In July 2006 Dutch explorer/mountaineer Wilco van Rooijen attempted to summit Broad Peak as well as K2 during one expedition. Liquid Earth mapped out the expedition's progress in the 3D environment of Google Earth so that visitors of the website could get a good sense of the scale of the mountains and geographical locations of the routes and camps.
